My name is Priscilla Pantlitz. Art is my true passion. I can say overall my favorite art styles are photo-realism and neo-traditional. I love doing realistic designs, such as portraits and animal life, etc. However, every now and then I  like to mix it up and try something new.  I am also a  Jewelry Designer.  Fine jewelry design is rewarding career that allows me to showcase my artistic abilities by creating intricate designs.

My Caribbean heritage largely influences my strong interest for gemstones and minerals. My favorite gemstone which also happens to be my birthstone is Pearl. I’m a June baby but I love the snow and ice so my second favorite stone is Amber. What bothers me the most is abjection and what soothes me the most is abstraction. My artistic philosophy is quite simple art is sweet just like a sugar cane.

I tend to use colorful, bold and vivacious patterns in my work in order to showcase highly evocative images. Overall my work is neat and tidy, very colorful and minimalist. My favorite mode of expression is drawing from imagination. My personal favorite artworks are from Frida Kahlo and Salvador Dali. Frida’s artworks speak better than others because they are visually engaging and very dynamic while showcasing serious themes. Salvador Dali is admirable and worthy of praise because he successfully explored subconscious imagery in a creative way. Salvador’s artworks speak better than others because they are weird and mysterious representations of real life scenes.

I like to make art at home because it’s your very own quiet space just like a haven of peace. In general, art makes me see stuff in a different light which is why I find art mysterious and intriguing. Art has a weird ambivalent vibe that makes me feel good in a way. In order to go about making a piece of art I usually look at images for inspiration or I draw from imagination. My favorite mediums are pastels, color pencils, markers and acrylic paints. I explored some themes such as fantasy and surrealism. My main goal as an artist is to create something aesthetically pleasing to the viewer. When you look at my paintings or when you look at my sculptures you will see an elegant Caribbean aesthetic that will make you think about harmonious island life. I hope my creative yet spunky personality is reflected through my art.
